Students Urged to Sign Up Early for Best Class Selection
Students planning to take classes at Orange Coast College this fall should apply no later than Friday, August 7th, according to the college’s Admissions Office.
The fall application deadline was established to give OCC enough time to process the applications and complete placement testing and student orientation meetings before students can register for classes. The fall semester begins Monday, August 31st.
Students should apply early for the best selection of classes. Late applicants – students applying after August 8th – may experience delays in registration and limited class availability. College officials plan to close the online admission application page as classroom seats become unavailable, probably in mid to late August. After that, students will be required to attend the first class meeting to petition for an add from the instructor before they can apply for admission.
To date, OCC has processed more than 14,000 applications for the Fall 2009 semester.
Students may apply online at www.orangecoastcollege.edu.
OCC’s Enrollment Center, located in Watson Hall, will observe summer hours through Aug. 14th: Monday and Tuesday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.; Wednesday and Thursday, 9:00 a.m. to 6:30 p.m.; and Fridays, 9:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m. For registration information, call 714-432-5072.
